Yud Shevat

Yud Shevat is the tenth day of the Hebrew month of Shevat. It commemorates the Yahrzeit – the anniversary of the passing away of the previous Lubavitcher Rebbe – Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Schneersohn. He passed away in the year 5710 corresponding to 1950 in the secular calendar. A year later on that very same day Menachem Mendel Schneerson, the son-in-law of Yosef Yitzchak, took the mantel of leadership and became the seventh Rebbe of Lubavitch. You can read more about this day on various sites on the internet and various books. In this small booklet you will see how this date alludes to the coming the Messiah.

As an example of a Gematria we take the Hebrew for Yud Shevat and work out the Total Value which is the Placement Value plus the Normal Value.

י שבט = 10 + 21 + 2 + 9 = 42 (PV)

י שבט = 10 + 300 + 2 + 9 = 321 (NV)

42 + 321 = 363 (TV)

The Messiah in Hebrew is HaMoshiach - המשיח.

המשיח = 5 + 40 + 300 + 10 + 8 = 363 (NV)

The booklet goes on to show how the blessing which Jacob gives to Judah has hidden in it the name of the true messiah.
