If you take the letters of the word Hand and work out their Placement Values you will find that it corresponds to the bones in the hand.
 
H = 8 and their are 8 Carpel bones. N = 14 and there are 14 Phalanges. A + D = 1 + 4 = 5 and there are 5 Meta Carpels. HAND = 8 + 1 + 14 + 4 = 27 for the 27 bones. 27 = 3 x 3 x 3.
